Liana is nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. She is a licensed acupuncturist, practitioner of Chinese Herbal Medicine, initiated cuarandera (healer) and ongoing student of the Mahua-Lopez Shipibo lineage of the Peruvian Amazon, registered yoga teacher, and founder of EvenTide Wellness in Washington, D.C.
Liana is dedicated to deepening her study and practice of Classical Chinese Medicine, as well as other forms of traditional and complementary medicine. Since completion of her Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine, she has continued regular study with Andrew and JulieAnn Nugent- Head, founders of the Association for Traditional Studies.
In 2021, Liana was initiated as a cuarandera (healer) in the Mahua-Lopez lineage of the Shipibo Tradition in the Peruvian Amazon. Liana continues to learn from this lineage under the tutelage of Maestro Don Enrique.
While Liana is skilled at treating a wide variety of issues, she specializes in women’s health, including gynecology, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, and menopause, as well as a host of conditions stemming from chronic stress, trauma, poor diet and/or lack of adequate rest, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, GI issues, chronic migraines, autoimmune conditions, chronic fatigue and complex pain syndromes.
Liana is an in-network provider for BCBS/CareFirst, Aetna, and United insurance.
Liana’s first career was as a humanitarian and diplomat with the U.S. Department of State, with a regional focus on the Middle East and South Asia. Throughout her tenure at the State Department, she contributed to the efforts of the U.S. government and international community to improve conditions and policies for millions of refugees and internally displaced persons.
Liana receives immense joy from helping her patients live full, healthy lives. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and two sons.
