Located in Washington, D.C., EvenTide Wellness integrates Classical Chinese Medicine with Indigenous Plant Medicine of the Amazonian Shipibo tradition. These ancient medicine traditions encompass a sophisticated and thorough understanding of optimal health and the root causes of illness. Employing the traditional modalities of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Amazonian Indigenous Plant Medicine, Bodywork, Cupping, Gua Sha, Dietary Therapy, Yoga and Qi Gong, EvenTide Wellness founder and owner, Liana Brooks-Rubin, treats a range of conditions, from minor ailments and injuries to complex, chronic illnesses.

The primary philosophy of EvenTide Wellness is that every person has the innate capacity to heal from physical, mental, spiritual and emotional disharmony and disease. Whether seeking relief from an acute or chronic condition or aiming to create greater balance in your life, your practitioner will undertake a thorough health and wellness assessment to develop an individualized and comprehensive treatment strategy.

Liana Brooks-Rubin, EvenTide Wellness Founder and Owner

Liana is nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. She is a licensed acupuncturist, practitioner of Chinese Herbal Medicine, initiated cuarandera (healer) and ongoing student of the Mahua-Lopez Shipibo lineage of the Peruvian Amazon, registered yoga teacher, and founder of EvenTide Wellness in Washington, D.C.

Liana is dedicated to deepening her study and practice of Classical Chinese Medicine, as well as other forms of traditional and complementary medicine. Since completion of her Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine, she has continued regular study with Andrew and JulieAnn Nugent- Head, founders of the Association for Traditional Studies.

In 2021, Liana was initiated as a cuarandera (healer) in the Mahua-Lopez lineage of the Shipibo Tradition in the Peruvian Amazon. Liana continues to learn from this lineage under the tutelage of Maestro Don Enrique.

While Liana is skilled at treating a wide variety of issues, she specializes in women’s health, including gynecology, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, and menopause, as well as a host of conditions stemming from chronic stress, trauma, poor diet and/or lack of adequate rest, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, GI issues, chronic migraines, autoimmune conditions, chronic fatigue and complex pain syndromes.

Liana is an in-network provider for BCBS/CareFirst, Aetna, and United insurance.

Liana’s first career was as a humanitarian and diplomat with the U.S. Department of State, with a regional focus on the Middle East and South Asia. Throughout her tenure at the State Department, she contributed to the efforts of the U.S. government and international community to improve conditions and policies for millions of refugees and internally displaced persons.

Liana receives immense joy from helping her patients live full, healthy lives. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and two sons.
